Trying to focus on a spreadsheet is nearly impossible when a medium-sized dog decides your face is more interesting than your email. Carrie found this out the hard way while working from home with her black Labrador, Belvedere. A recent video on his handle @_mr.belvedere_ shows the moment her “professional couch diver” decided her work day was officially over. He started with a single kiss before moving to more dramatic demands for attention.
Labrador needs attention in adorable video
The video opens with Labrador classic move: the sneak-attack kiss. Belvedere wanders over and plants a wet smooch right on Carrie’s face while she is very clearly on her laptop. He acts like a kiss is the perfect companion for a complex spreadsheet. When that doesn’t work, he retreats to the other side of the couch and lets out a tiny, betrayed whine. He sits there for a second, looking like he’s been totally ignored.
Things escalate quickly once he realizes his mom is still looking at the screen. He moves in to nudge her arm to remind her that he exists. His tail is wagging as he lets out a high-pitched complaint. He even throws in a “C’mon” bounce. Carrie, in the caption, shared, “When he talks he’s so demanding,” and his persistence is hard to ignore.
Eventually, the video shows him getting right back in her face because one-handed pets just aren’t enough. Mom finally gives in and starts laughing, which Belvedere takes as a signal to start a play bow. He even begins licking her elbow to seal the deal. When she tries to offer a quick scratch, he lets out a loud, yawning complaint. He clearly won’t settle for anything less than her full and undivided attention.
With over 3,000 likes, it seems plenty of other remote workers relate to the struggle. Viewers joked that it looks like the best work environment ever, even if it isn’t very productive. For Belvedere, no meeting is more important than a pup’s love.
